Hey Space Placers! If your skies are clear the next few nights watch the waxing gibbous Moon approach and pass bright Jupiter. You can't miss this sight in the sky after dark as the Moon and Jupiter will be on celestial display in the S - SE sky.If you have binoculars or a telescope take a peek at Jupiter and its four main moons - always a treat to see.The Moon moves about 12 degrees a day in the sky as it orbits the Earth in its lunar month and these next few days will show that motion very easily. The reddish star to the lower right is bright and huge Antares. Here is what the view of Jupiter and Antares looks like without the Moon in a dark sky location.Bright Jupiter on the left keeps Antares, to the upper right of Jupiter, company in this southern hemisphere view.Greg RedfernHere's to clear skies and enjoy the view!
