Global Launch Industry Expanding Diversified Access to Space

European commercial carrier Arianespace is set to launch the Eutelsat 65 West A communications satellite via Ariane 5 ECA rocket VA229 from the Guiana Space Centre at Kourou, French Guiana, on Wednesday March 9. The spacecraft is built by Space Systems/Loral as a multimission broadcast / broadband satellite to provide services in Brazil and across Latin America over the next 15 years. India space agency ISRO has two launches set this month, IRNSS-1F Mar 10 and IRNSS-1G Mar 31, in order to complete the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System. Both satellites will be launched aboard India’s very own workhorse rocket PSLV in the XL configuration from Satish Dhawan Space Center, Sriharikota, India. The IRNSS system of 3 satellites in GEO, 4 satellites in GSO and 2 on the ground as stand-by, is designed to provide accurate real-time positioning and timing services over India and the surrounding 1,500-km area.
