The Mars Society's 2015 University Rover Challenge (URC) began earlier today at the organization's Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in southern Utah. 23 student teams from around the world are participating in the three-day competition, held at the world's largest "Mars sandbox" in and around the MDRS habitat.
