The previous post included a black and white image that I did when I was broadcasting online. I couldn't figure out why the color camera gave me these monochrome results, but another clear night permitted me to play around a bit more with the Envisage settings, and switch to Fits3 and normal operation instead of FITS and save all images. The FITS3 basically saves a lunimance and a color image, and normal mode basically lets Envisage handle all the stacking.Well look at the results below. I was thrilled when this appeared on the screen. Oh, and I also purchased Nebulosity, and the results for that application speak for themselves.M57 - C8 @f6.3, 10x22s exposuresI had many nights of frustration just trying to learn more about proper alignment, and astrophotography in general, last week however the stars seemed to have aligned (Pun intended!), and I got some great results.Oh, check out this image of M27.M27 - C8 @f6.3, 10x1min exposuresNot too bad considering that the DSI II is quite old technology, and considered by many today to better suited as an autoguider then an imager. Personally I"m thrilled with the results, and can't wait until I can really get the CG5 ...
