Observing ReportI have been mostly imaging Jupiter, with my best image of the season posted below.Apart from imaging Jupiter, I have also been imaging our closest star, the Sun. Hydrogen-Alpha imaging however is more complicated that I had originally thought, and I will certainly need a lot more practice with technique and post image processing. Here are some Ha and white-light images below.Vendor NewsOrion releases their Atlas AZ-EQ GoTo Mount. They take their very successful Atlas EQ mount, and give it a redesign to permit usage now in two modes; Alt-Az and Equatorial. Time will tell if its a solid performer, but I bet it will be a real winner, if you can get past the price point of $2299.Orion Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G GoTo MountDecember ObservingJupiter! The mighty planet Jupiter reached opposition on December 2nd, and will not be closer to us here on Earth again until 2021!
