We are deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of Professor Nicolò D’Amico, President of the Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF). Professor D’Amico has left behind a profound legacy in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics. It was his interest in high-energy astrophysics that led to his strong support of the Italian participation in CTA, pushing to establish the future headquarters of the CTA Observatory ERIC at the new INAF building in Bologna. We are grateful for his contributions and will miss his support and leadership. Our sincerest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
