December 7th.. Conjunction of the red and blue.
(200 words excerpt, click title or image to see full post)

Look out next Friday, as the red of Mars dances near to the blue of Neptune.Mars and Neptune will be in conjunction on the 7th of December. As the skies darken look towards the south. The two planets will be about 0.2 degrees apart.Mars will clearly be visible through binoculars, and hopefully Neptune will be spotted with my 12x50 binoculars. When you locate Mars in your binoculars, or telescope, look towards the 4.00 oclock position, there you should be able to see nearby Neptune.I'm looking forward in particular to capturing Neptune with my 90mm Maksutov. The little Maksutov will hopefully return a favourable blue colour rendition of this most distant of ice planets.Clear planet skies for next Friday..Mark
