The UK is currently in the midst of a grit crisis. Amusing, but true. Snow keeps falling and ice keeps freezing (coldest winter since 1963, apparently), but that lovely mixture of sand and salt the city and county councils throw on the roads to keep them useable is starting to run low. What an odd situation. Mind you, feel free to call me a geek, but the physics of the whole ice/salt combination is quite interesting...(Read more ...)
