The countdown ceremony
Sagamihara City, where our campus is based on, exceeded 500 thousands of population, and will become a city designated by government ordinance (the 19th in this country and the 3rd in Kanagawa Prefecture) in coming April, and the city is busy in preparing for this milestone. As a kick-off, the city held a ceremony of the 100-day countdown on December 22. The last part of the ceremony was dedicated to presentation of more than ten thousands of messages from the citizens in Sagamihara City, which will be sent to Venus onboard the Venus Climate Orbiter “Akatsuki”. Project Manager Masato Nakamura received handful messages from Sagamihara City Mayor and pupils. By the way, the address of our office will be changed from “3-1-1 Yoshinodai, Sagamihara” to “3-1-1 Yoshinodai, Chuo, Sagamihara” from April next year accordingly.
Handful messages to be delivered to Venus
