Children’s Science Festival in Yamato
Children’s Science Festival in Yamato was held on December 19, and we JAXA (or strictly speaking, I) held a booth entitled “Let’s experience stereoscopic view” to explain the principle of stereoscopic measurements with solar system probes and earth observing satellites and their outcomes. We showed anaglyph images of lunar craters taken with the Terrain Camera of the lunar orbiter “Kaguya”, and an image of Yokohama City taken with the advanced land observation satellite “Daichi”. We also took memorial 3D photographs of the visitors with the stereoscopic camera. Thanks to the assistances of the three students of Tokai University, I could operate the booth very smoothly.
