Ever since we gave our grandson a tool box filled with real tools, he has been asking me to build 'spaceships' with him. After near disaster on a hardwood floor, I decided to build him a workbench and my wife suggested that I use the crib that we had for our kids (one of those uber dangerous drop side models that haven't been made in many years). So, she and I scoured the home depot. We bought some boards from the 'clearance' pile, a handful of brackets and a box of screws. About $16 total. I threw in the pegboard and a few other bits and pieces that I've had laying around. I threw in a small clamp-on vise to help him saw. I have no idea how this will hold up, but it should be good for a while.
