Over the past five years at NASA, I have been blessed to find myself surrounded by a family of dreamers, darers, and doers. The greatest joy I’ve found is being able to assist these champions of imagination in the successes of their mission. When the Open Government Directive was released back in 2009, a promise of transparency, participation, and collaboration in the federal government was made with the American people. While recent events in the news pull our attention to the first tenet, the real charges of the directive lay in the latter. NASA has been hard at work creating ways to engage and inspire each and every one of you while moving towards a “default open” state of business. Through the first two plans, we made great strides in sharing our passion with the world. This third installment continues this legacy to provide a banquet of opportunity for everyone to interact directly with our agency.
