Soyuz TMA-011M launches towards International Space Station with three crew and an unlit Olympic torch (Updated)7 Nov 2013, 10:08 UTC
At 0414 GMT Launch on 7 November, Soyuz TMA-011M (on flight ISS-37S) was successfully launched by a Soyuz FG launch vehicle on a flight to the International Space Station (ISS) which had passed over the Baikonur Cosmodrome launch site near Tyuratam, Kazakhstan five minutes before hand. The crew on board were cosmonaut and commander Mikhail Tyurin, NASA astronaut and flight engineer Rick Mastracchio and Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata. The crew also carried an Olympic torch (unlit) aboard their spacecraft. After the now usual fast approach method, the Soyuz TMA-11M spacecraft docked to the ISS Rassvet module at 1027 GMT on the same day.
