Having built and launched their first satellite Skysat-1 as a proof of concept for their planned series of commercial imaging spacecraft, the US-firm Skybox Imaging has decided to stop manufacturing spacecraft and has instead ordered 13 spacecraft from the Space Systems/Loral, a US-based subsidiary of the Canadian space manufacturer MDA. The 120kg spacecraft designed to image the Earth both via still images and with the ability to take short movie clips.
