Astronaut Dan Burbank, orbiting 240 miles above the Earth's surface on the International Space Station, took this picture of Comet Lovejoy in 2011. Unsure at first of what he was seeing when the glowing arc appeared over the horizon, Burbank later called this "the most amazing thing I have ever seen in space. And that's saying a lot, because every day is filled with amazing things."
